Wolfie was an altered Chimpanzee who lived in the cage on the end of the row Rocket, Maurice and Andy was in, at the San Bruno Primate Shelter and who later smashed a camera during the mass-breakout from the Gen-Sys Laboratories. He was present during the assault on the Golden Gate Bridge and followed Koba in scaling the Bridge's support struts. He was shot in the back by a helicopter gunner, losing his grip and frantically trying to hang on before plummeting to his death in the waters below. Seeing the poor Chimpanzee die enraged Maurice, who watched from below the bridge.
Notes
- The name of this Chimpanzee was revealed by director Rupert Wyatt in the commentary track of the Rise of the Planet of the Apes blu-ray disc. He was named after Wolfie Smith, the urban guerilla hero of British comedy series Citizen Smith, who was in turn named after Irish revolutionary Theobald Wolfe Tone (who used the pseudonym 'Citizen Smith').
