Thomas M. Hammel was executive producer of the 2011 movie Rise of the Planet of the Apes and the 2014 movie Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Hammel's credits stretch back to 1976 when he was unit manager on the comedy film Fantasm. Since then he has worked as unit production manager, producer or executive producer on movies including Piranha (1978, starring Bradford Dillman), The Beastmaster (1982, starring Marc Singer), Rumble Fish (1983), Love Potion No. 9 (1992), Dungeons & Dragons (2000), From Hell (2001), The Day After Tomorrow (2004), AVP: Alien vs. Predator (2004), Night at the Museum (2006), Meet Dave (2008), Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian (2009) and Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010).
