Patrick Doyle composed the soundtrack for the 2011 movie Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Doyle is a regular collaborator on Kenneth Branagh's films, including Henry V (1989), Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (1994) and Thor (2011), and other notable scores he has composed include Carlito's Way (1993), Donnie Brasco (1997), Bridget Jones' Diary (2001) and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005). The soundtrack was released in July 2011 by Varèse Sarabande in the United States, and by Colosseum VSD in Germany and Geneon in Japan.

- The soundtrack album was released shortly before the movie premiered. The unambiguous titles of the tracks had the effect of giving away strong hints about the plot of the film in advance.
