Rico Rival is an artist for Marvel Comics who illustrated and inked the original story Kingdom on an Island of the Apes which appeared in Marvel's Planet of the Apes Magazine issues #9 and #10. Rival then illustrated and inked the adaptation of Escape from the Planet of the Apes which was printed in issues #12 - #16 of the magazine. Finally, Rival illustrated Quest for the Planet of the Apes - a new story linking the fourth and fifth movie adaptations.
