France Nuyen is a French-born, half-Vietnamese actress who played the role of Alma in Battle for the Planet of the Apes. Nuyen's first film was South Pacific, while a stage role in The World of Suzie Wong led to her being cast in a movie version but she was replaced during production. She is also known for playing the title character in the Star Trek episode "Elaan of Troyius".

According to journalist Sam Maronie, while visiting the set of Battle..., Nuyen mentioned that she dated screenwriter Paul Dehn, 'dreamily' adding, “he writes beautiful poetry!”.[1] In fact, Dehn was in a long-term relationship with composer James Bernard from 1946 until his death.[2]
