For Human Rights was the backup story featured in MR Comics' Revolution on the Planet of the Apes #1. It was written by Ty Templeton, with art by Attila Adorjany, and gave some background to one of the characters appearing in the main story.
1988: Chris Leung, a radical activist, attended a political rally for Arthur Bishop Trundy, California's governor, who was running for President on a platform of “manifest human superiority” and a slogan of “For Human Rights.” Leung despised Trundy, who has focused only on the ape scenario, ignoring such issues as war, unemployment, the environment and the economy. Trundy warned that apes in San Francisco were learning sign language and would soon begin demanding a right to vote. Leung had come to assassinate Trundy, but a gorilla servant named Toby sensed his intentions and knocked the gun from his hand. Guards shot Toby down, and Leung escaped in the confusion, leaving Trundy's security chief wondering if the ape gave its life to save a man.
