Ultrasonic was a comic strip printed in Editorial Mo.Pa.Sa's 'El Planeta De Los Simios' 1977 Argentinian comics, written by Jorge Claudio Morhain and illustrated by Sergio Alejandro Mulko, and featuring the characters from the Planet of the Apes TV series.

Synopsis[]

The fugitives meet an elderly orangutan named Harimon, considered an outcast and sorcerer by other apes. They travel with him to the ruins of New York City, pursued by Urko and his troops. The fugitives find a shopping center with its windows smashed, which Harimon, an expert on sound waves, says could have been caused by a single low-frequency chord. Searching the bug-infested mall, they locate a radio station with an amplifier and speakers capable of such a blast. Harimon activates the amplifier, emitting a pulse that shakes the building and alerts Urko's troops. Burke and Galen scout for a way to get to the next building. Urko corners them, forcing Galen to grab Burke and jump the gap. Urko pounces as they descend a fire escape, choking Burke until Galen punches him in the gut. Urko's rifle discharges, alerting soldiers. Virdon locates a roomful of cables, but an ape shoots Harimon before he can make a connection. The astronaut carries the ape to the basement, where Harimon completes the amplifier circuit before dying. Virdon barely makes it out as the deep ultrasonic blast brings down the entire building. This scares off the apes, and after a heartfelt reunion, the fugitives return to life on the run.
