Martinez was a fourth astrounaut along with Ulysses, Romulus and Sophie, but died durring during the Cassiopeia's long journey. The cause of death was the rupture of hibernation pod.

- In the Planet of the Apes, as in the original film, three astronauts survived the initial crash-landing on an "alien" planet, but the fourth died, because of the ruputure of the hibernation pod.
