Mark Bomback is an American screenwriter. A graduate of Wesleyan University, where he studied English Literature and Film Studies, Bomback's writing credits have included The Night Caller (1998), Godsend (2004, also producer), Live Free or Die Hard (2007), Deception (2008) and Race to Witch Mountain (2009). Bomback was brought in as an uncredited 'script doctor' on the 2011 film Rise of the Planet of the Apes, written by Amanda Silver and Rick Jaffa. Among his contributions was Caesar drawing the shape of his bedroom window on his cage wall to remind him of home. Director Rupert Wyatt took this concept further by using the window shape as Caesar's logo - as featured in on-screen graffiti and in early publicity material.[1]

Bomback went on to write the remake of Total Recall (2012) and The Wolverine. In October 2012 it was announced that he had been asked to rework the script and executive produce for the Rise sequel, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.[2]
