Donkeys are what the human soldiers call the eleven apes who sided with them in the war against Caesar and his army. Many of these "donkeys" defected from Caesar's own army either out of fear of Caesar, preferring the humans or did not want to serve with him due to being loyal to Koba.
Under Colonel McCullough's command, most of the donkeys serve as mere slaves, being used to do their bidding like carrying mortar launchers, ammunition, guns and helping move equipment. If they betray them, they are shot instantly. They are also forced to have "Donkey" tattooed on their back as well.
