Warning Spoiler ahead for thoser who haven't seen Dawn of the PLanet of the Apes.
In an interview with Andy Serkis, he was asked if nuclear war was ruled out for the next installments, to which he replied it defainetly was not. Could the human-ape war result in a nuclear war, in which humans further destroy whats left of themselves? I wonder because when Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver came in on Rise they confirmed that the virus was suppossed to be a replacement for the nuclear war, because they both destroyed human civilization. But with Matt Reeves and Mark Bomback writing it now its really thier choice. I also wonder if this series will have the apes move to NYC, in search of a new home and refugee during/after the war. Becuase it seemed …Read more >
I mean would you want to see them redo the original movie with cameos of the original actors I'm referring to a movie with Taylor, Nova, and the other original characters. I personally think it would be interesting especially if they had the original cast making cameos.Read more >

I just finished Firestorm, the prequel novel to Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, a few days ago. I loved it and it has made me even more excited for the movie. It was a great book and I'd like to share my thoughts.
I thought that Greg Keyes did a great job developing Dreyfus and Koba. He made Dreyfus out to be a kind of hero for San Franscisco and just an all around great guy. I loved what he did with Koba giving him a backstory. I really felt sorry for Koba. He had a broken past and it really makes the character so much deeper.
I also loved some of the new characters he added like Talia, Malakai, Clancy, and David. These were all solid character that felt genuine and were very cool. I really enjoyed the parts with Talia in th…Read more >
Sorry, I haven't been on in a couple of days. I haven't been able to login through Facebook. Anyway, I writing this to tell you guys that there may be a name change in terms of Caesar's eldest son, River in Dawn. As I'm sure you're all aware by now, promotional material has River named as 'Blue Eyes'. I picked this when the first official featurette was released. I didn't think much of it until images came out on the offical Apes Facebook and Twitter pages. I commented on one of Nick Thurston's facebook posts about the sudden name change and he commented back and said that during filming it the character was named River but there was talk of them changing it but he wasn't positive. However, someone posted a comment on another blog…Read more >
You guys watched the last trailer?Things will heat up with Carver getting angry and beating the Infant son.

I just saw the new trailer for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. It was fantastic! It was very cinematic and really cool although I did like the last one better. With that said I'd like to talk about a few things.
First of all, there is going to be alot of apes and I mean alot. I know we've seen this plenty of times but here it really popped out on me. With the apes running through the city at the beginning and the shot we already saw of Caesar's apes all gathered behind him we will definately be getting alot of apes.
By the way the shot of the apes taking down that bear is super cool.
I also think that the relationship between Malcolm and Caesar is going to be very strong and this trailer seemed to stress that. We hear Malcom t…Read more >
Hey yo guys,I'm very excited to see the last trailer of Dawn,I've noticed some things from the teaser that was posted in the oficial Dawn Instagram and Facebook page:
-Grey is a chimp and very loyal to Koba?A picture posted on facebook shows an actor with the mo-cap of Grey, and he's holding a long spear next to Malcolm and Koba. And down this picture we can see the same scene in CGI and I saw a chimp holding the same spear, and this chimp appears several scenes with Koba,so I think it's possible that he's Grey.
-Malcolm will be thrown to the ground by apes?In the new teaser posted,we can see a gorila standing in front of Malcolm and his clothes aren't dirty, but on other trailers he appears surrounded by apes and totally covered in mud.It is po…Read more >
I was looking though the twitter page for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and they posted a picture of who I believe to be River, Caesar's eldest son but they have him named Blue Eyes. The picture also has a subtitle that reads "Nick Thurston" noting him as the actor so it is safe to assume that he is River. The part that really stands out about this is the fact that he has blue eyes. Why does he have these blue eyes? Don't all of the intelligent ape's eyes turn bright green? Mabye it is because he is the son of an ape that has had it his whole life. River would be the only ape whose father has been altered at birth, There could also be another reason why. Who knows. What do y'all think?Read more >
I have recently noticed that images are being added the main wiki articles in the wrong places. There is nothing wrong with adding pictures to articles but please keep in mind that if an article has enough text on it, please add the pictures, videos, etc to the gallery at the bottom of the page. I've noticed this especially on the Chernin Entertainment franchise pages where images are being added in the wrong sections. The image gallery is there for a reason please use it. The only exception to have pictures is the relationship section of the article to show who the sub-section is referring to. If this is not followed then the contributions will be undone and the articles will be locked so that only admins can edit them and I d…Read more >
I just finished Firestorm yesterday and I enjoyed it a lot! What I noticed in the book was that the characters of Koba and Dreyfus were developed, and made to be sympathetic. I think this was very purposful, because these are going to be the prejudiced members of their communities, and Matt Reeves emphasized he wanted no villians, and this book serves to show how Dreyfus and Koba aren't villians but want what they think is best to protect their species.
The only thing I didn't like was that it didn't show what happened to Will Rodman after Rise of the Planet of the Apes which would have been interesting to see.
I also liked the references to the original, with Milo and the Alpha-Omega Group, referencing the bomb in beneath. Were there any o…Read more >
I would like to see Dawn build back to the original 1968 POTA storyline. We need humans portrayed as dirty, non speaking savages that are hunted by civilized apes for science and sport. That was what made Hestons character, Taylor, so spectacular. He could talk. He was smart...and he shaved, totally amazing the apes as an odddity.
Just as in Escape when Zira, Cornelius and Milo arrive and dazzle everyone with speech and domestication.Read more >
I was looking through the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes youtube account and they had this video up. It showed the digression of London and at about ten seconds in the ape's symbol (Caesar's bedroom window) appeared. My question is how did the apes get to London to put that on there. They have no way of crossing the ocean. I'm sure there is an explanation or they simply made a mistake but what do y'all think?Read more >
With only 50 something days to go until the release of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, I guess now we're on the home stretch. We have recieved not one but two AMAZING new trailers with I think another one on the way. Just today we have a new tv spot which shows pretty much the same footage as before but a few new clips are included and more of Caesar talking. Here's a list of all the new things to look forward to in the build up to the release of Dawn:
- Prequel Novel - Dawn of the Planet of the Apes: Firestorm
- Official Movie Novel
- Art of the Film book which includes concept art from Rise
- Official Film Magazine
- Another trailer (or two) [Not sure about this one yet]
- More TV spots
- Interviews with the cast and crew
- Exclusive scenes from the film
- Set vis…

So far, from the plot points relased for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, there are many striking similarities to Battle. This makes me wonder how similiar Dawn will be to Battle. Here are some similairities and differences.
Caesar-Caesar: Obivoulsy Caesar from Dawn is meant to parallel Caesar from Rise.
Cornelia-Lisa: Both are Caesar's wives and are the Queen of the Apes.
River-Corneluis: Both are Caesar's sons. It seems that River is going to take a more active role in Dawn than Corneluis did in Battle, due to the fact that River is suppossed to be a teenager where Corneluis was just a little kid.
Maurice-Virgil/The Lawgiver: Both wise orangutans who are Caesar's trusted advisers. Maurice could possibly become the next Lawgiver. The Lawgive…

Hey Apes fans! It's been one hell of a couple of weeks for us Apes fans! We have recieved a new poster, a TV spot, a tease at some of the footage for anyone who was at CinemaCon and some exciting news in regards to some of the cast joining new projects such as The Jungle Book and Juarassic World. Hopefully, we'll get a lot more information when the film continues early publicity when Fox takes promotion to WonderCon where director Matt Reeves along with stars Andy Serkis, Keri Russell and Gary Oldman will talk about the film and hopefully show us diehard fans a bit more juicy footage and hopefully a few more posters.
Thanks to the new TV spot, we have recieved our first look at Caesar and Cornelia's teenage son, River. From what Andy Serki…

Hey Apes fans! Now, with four months (16 weeks) to go before the release of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes I thought it would be fun to mention all the things that are coming up in terms of the Apes universe before Dawn's release in July. I also thought I would post my speculations for the Dawn prequel novel which is currently titled Firestorm.
- Andy Serkis (Caesar) will recieve the Vanguard Award at CinemaCon for his work with Motion Capture. CinemaCon runs from March 24-27 at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas
- April is the month in which Judy Greer (Cornelia)'s memior 'Don't Know What You Know Me From: Confessions of a Co-Star' is released to bookstores on April 8.
- On May 27 the prequel novel to Dawn entitled: Dawn of the Planet of the Apes: Firestorm is rele…

I was just exploring the new Dawn of the Planet of the Apes website that was launched the day they debuted the trailer and I noticed something that was bit off. From all the sources that were released in relation to Rise have stated roughly that the film starts in 2010 and ends in 2018 which is also rough. However, this new site has stated that the Dawn picks up 10 years later but the date appears to wrong. It says 2026. If its wrong then Dawn will be 8 years in the future not the 10 that was stated by Matt Reeves at Comic Con.
Here's the site: http://www.dawnofapes.com/
Something's off here. Does anyone agree?Read more >
From seeing these posters, it is clear that the apes are all very angry. We know that at the begining of the film apes will not know of humans still existing and the discovery of their existence will be a surprise. But I wonder what will set the apes off? Will the humans attack them? Will they kill one of Caesar's sons? Possible his infant child? Any ideas?Read more >
Due to changes in the production schedule of The Fast and the Furious, Fox is rearranging its release schedule for summer 2014, which means the upcoming Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is getting pulled forward for a July 11th, 2014 release -- a whole week earlier than its original July 18th release date.
Check out a Comic Con 2013 interview with the film's cast below.Read more >
I was just having a closer look comic and I found a few images that were interesting. I apologise for the lack of images but I tried to make the tiff images that I have and tried to turn them into jpeg files but it didn't work. There is probably a thousand hidden messages in the comic.
So for anyone who doesn't know, The Americans' star Keri Russell has been cast in the role as the lead human character, replacing the character of Caroline (Freida Pinto), Caesar's adoptive mother from Rise. The character that will be played by Russell in the film has not had a name released as of yet. She seems to make an appear on the third page of the comic. It is currently unknown as to how the character will come into the story other then what we already…

With New York Comic Con this week, I thought I would talk a bit about we know currently about the characters of Dawn. As what will be shown during the hour long Fox Panel hasn't been released, we currently don't know whether there will be footage shown from Dawn or not, we can only wait and find out.
As we are all aware, many of the apes from Rise will be returning and we will be introduced to some new faces both ape and human. I do have to mention that no human characters from Rise are returning as it is likely that they all died from the Simian Flu (previously known as the ALZ-113 virus) meaning there is no Will and Caroline in this film. This blog will feature known spoilers and pure fan speculation so if you don't want to know anything about…Read more >
Hi everyone! I'm a new member of this wiki but not the CE reboot franchise.
Like everyone here, I was excited to see the main cast, director and producer of the upcoming Dawn of the Planet of the Apes appear at Comic Con 2013. I wasn't actually there as I live in Australia but I was able to track the information and videos from the event online and I was excited to learn of the various things that were revealed by the cast and the crew. But the main focus of this blog post is what was revealed about Caesar's family and 'council' of apes.
It was revealed by Andy Serkis that Caesar will have a wife in Dawn while Dylan Clark, one the film's producers revealed that Caesar's wife was in fact Cornelia, which explains a lot as there were scenes omitted…

Maurice is my favorite ape, hes funny. But, I wanna know, was it Maurice in the 2001 remake that was the old ape (I forgot some names since its a reimagining also...)'s friend? I have been giving alot of thought into how all three versions of the planet of the apes films sereis could be integrated into a single timline
here are a few details
Cornelius and Zira did not arrive on earth in the past but rather onto ashlar
Oberon was launched by humans trying to escape earth and simply pretend that the occurances on earth were not happening, thus their goal was to find a new world and live in denial that it wasnt earth. Mimicking the old world as best they could
of course its all very silly, but if someone thinks its an interesting idea I may make a timeline up for it for kicks :PRead more >
Not too long ago there was a blog post about Andy Serkis becoming Caesar in the new Rise of the Planet of the Apes film, and now that many of you have seen the film, the reviews of his performance have been overwhelmingly positive. Andy Serkis has always done amazing motion capture work (Gollum, King Kong), but his role as Caesar in this summer's blockbuster has been unanimously praised.
His performance was so inspiring that fans have started a campaign to get him an Oscar nomination. Check out the OscarForAndy Twitter page and the Oscar4Andy Facebook group to add your support. Many of the fans have declared his portrayal of Caesar the ape as his best work, but one cannot deny that Serkis deserves an award, at the very least, for his combin…Read more >
Rise of the Planet of the Apes was released in theaters over this weekend. And it should be no surprise that we all all going ape-bonkers over this new film. In it's first week at the box office, the apes managed to take home a cool fifty-four million dollars and be the number one at the box office. (I wonder how many bananas $54 million dollars would buy)
The film stars James Franco, Freida Pinto, and Andy Serkis. The film was probably helped a little bit by critics who seemed to be mostly favorable of the film. Also high-praise has been given to the realistic and almost photo like quality of the apes.
The Smurfs movie finished at second place and Cowboys and Aliens finished at third place.
Were you able to make it out this weekend to see the…Read more >
