Production Timeline[]
- January 2: Actor Jason Evers is born in New York. Evers appeared in Escape from the Planet of the Apes, playing the role of E-1.
- January 13: According to the Social Security Death Index, journalist Army Archerd is born. Archerd made on-screen appearances in Planet of the Apes and Beneath the Planet of the Apes playing gorilla soldiers, and in Escape from the Planet of the Apes as the Boxing Referee.
- February 3: Director Arnold Laven is born in Chicago. Laven directed the Planet of the Apes TV series episodes "The Trap", "The Surgeon" and "The Liberator".
- March 7th: Movie producer Arthur P. Jacobs is born. He will go on to produce the original five Planet of the Apes movies.[1]
- May 2: Comic book artist and cartoonist Doug Wildey is born. Wildey was the director and associate producer of the 1975 cartoon series Return to the Planet of the Apes.
- May 13: Director Don Weis is born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Weis directed two episodes of the Planet of the Apes TV series - "Escape from Tomorrow" and "The Good Seeds".
- July 26: Director/writer/producer Blake Edwards is born. Blake was involved in very early efforts to create a movie based on the novel Planet of the Apes.
- August 1: Actor Paul Lambert is born. Lambert played the role of the Minister in the 1968 Planet of the Apes film.
- August 13th: Actor Buck Kartalian is born in Detroit, Michigan. Buck will go on to play the role of Julius in the 1968 film, Planet of the Apes, and Frank in Conquest of the Planet of the Apes.[2]
- October 5th: Actor Woodrow Parfrey is born in New York City. Woodrow will go on to play the characters of Doctor Maximus and Veska.[3]
- November 12th: Actress Kim Hunter is born in Detroit, Michigan. Kim will go on to play the character of Zira in Planet of the Apes, Beneath the Planet of the Apes and Escape from the Planet of the Apes.[4]
- November 16: Actor Royal Dano is born. Dano featured in the Planet of the Apes television series, playing the role of Farrow in the pilot episode "Escape from Tomorrow".
